A year or so ago, me and the kids saw the Yes-movie. Now in no way is this a promotion for the movie, but the movie prompted a question: should we do a yes day in our family of three, or not?
Of course the kids prevailed (mainly by using their cuty power) so we had our first yes-day January 1st, 2023. Now I’d be lying if I said I looked forward to that day. I want to say I’m adventurous (cough cough) but we all know what level of adventure I’m currently at. So, even though it’s not what I expected and the day went relatively tranquil, the moment they started talking about having another yes-day made me go a bit cookoo again.
So. January 1st, 2025 will be the day. I will report back if we’ve survived the day (read here: I) and how it all went about.
What do you think? Would you warrant a yes-day within your family? If so, what do you expect to gain from having such a day? What kind of limits would you impose on the requests? Because of course if they come and ask to eat ice-cream the whole day… I can but imagine the sugar rush and the accompanied frenzy that would follow such a day!
So – let me know how you envision this so maybe we can compare notes. Let’s GO!
